| - I went to Beauty Brands Salon for an updo as part of a wedding party. There were 7 of us girls, and I was a little surprised by the different experiences we all had. My stylist was a very friendly lady who did a great job, but charged $65. Another girl had a stylist who did an ok job, but not exactly what she asked for, and her stylist only charged $55. I've never been anywhere that didn't have set prices for things like an updo on medium-length hair, so I thought that was strange. Unfortunately the bride's sister drew the short stick and was completely unsatisfied with her stylist. She actually got up to leave in the middle of her appointment, saying she would rather just do her hair herself than have it look bad, and the stylist got a little pushy with her trying to make her stay in the chair. Nothing like having the MOH crying on the morning of your wedding!
However, most of the stylists did a great job. The bride looked beautiful. And the hair mostly stayed put, even after a busy day and dancing the night away at the reception (I only had to touch it up once or twice).
Also, it's nice that they have so many makeup and hair products on sale in the store part of the building.
Overall I was decently pleased with Beauty Brands but probably would not go back, because of the inconsistency of the quality and friendliness of the stylists, and inconsistency of the pricing.
