We were visiting friends, who are not believers. My sister and I came from CA. We told them we would like to attend a church service and they selected this church. As soon as we saw it was a mega church, we were concerned that it COULD fit in the generalization we know of mega churches, but we were still hopeful it would be a Scripture saturated church. It wasn't. It was exactly what we expected: uplifting stories with one small passages plucked from its context in order to support a story with very little mention of God and very little use of Scripture - and that Scripture was not at all what the author's point was (a simple observation of context could've made that known). It breaks our heart to see a flood of people congregating to a place where they basically hear a TED Talk. There was also prosperity gospel preaching - make time for important things, like your kids and date nights, oh yeah... and God... and it will go well with you! That's not truth. Wish they'd give expository, biblically saturated preaching that was well studied and discerned.
