| - My husband and I purchased $8,000 in blinds and shades from Blind Devotion this spring. They were installed in May. Four months later, the cords on two of our shades came unknotted, within the bead where the knots were contained, and so fell off - one approximately a week after the other. There is no way for the consumer to re-tie the ends within the beads, and this is obviously a fault in the design.
When I called and described the problem with the cords, the woman to whom I was talking said, "It happens". She then told me there would be a $75.00 service charge for someone to come out and repair them. The shades obviously have a defect, the company obviously knows about it, yet sells them without a warning and then charges to fix the defect. Quite a deal for the company.
We were told by the owner that they stand by their products, so I wrote a letter of complaint to him on September 22nd. There has been NO reply.
To pay a $75 service charge on 4 month-old, faulty blinds strikes us as outrageous -- especially after the amount of money we spent on them -- and a far cry from 'standing behind' your product. I've used this company before but never will again now that I know how they handle problems -- nor will I ever refer anyone to them. Truly, 'buyer beware' is the caution I would give.
