| - I really think my experience here could have been better , but I was unlucky and didn't get a good consultant.
The dresses they have here rang from $1000 to $6000. I came here as it was a middle point between some of the places I've already been. They are one of 4 in Toronto that carry Watters Bridal. and they really push you to try them on. It's different than some of the ones I've tried before. A lot of them are made of silk/taffeta with some detailing that makes it really different. I would say it's a perfect place to find the destination or outdoor ceremony with that whimsical romantic feel. But I'm not sure that's what I was looking for.
When I made the appointment, I spoke to Daniel and he gave me some really good advice about picking my dress. He also asked me which dress I've liked to far, so I thought they were going to be prepared when I got there.
After checking in, they had asked me, no rather, tried to confirm with me that this was the first time I was trying on dresses. I told Daniel that no, this was my 5th place and I know what I am looking for. My consultant was there, and clearly wasn't paying attention as she asked me again (count: 3) in a really condescending tone where my friend basically had to shoot answers back at her.
The questionnaire also asks me what I am looking for but obviously no one read it.
Not that any of this information helped her. They had asked me to pull 5 dresses and she'd pull the rest. She only pulled a few, and nothing what I was looking for. The most helpful was Daniel, I believe the manager of the store. He was helping another woman, but seeing as my consultant would disappear and leave me half dressed, he came to help, and pulled one or two himself. When his client came out, she would immediately rush to her (which is the right thing to do).
We noticed that everything he pulled for her was exactly what she had said she wanted or didn't want. Unlike mine, which I said I like A-Line, Trumpet and she gives me Ball Gown.
Unfortunately Daniel wasn't my consultant, I think he would have gotten to know me better.
When we were picking the dresses, we were also frustrated. They said, just choose five. So we picked and pulled them out flat, but then someone put them back in straight. They need to have coloured clips or something.
I did like the different style of dresses I haven't seen before at Beckers, White and Jealous. They have a lot of belts and boleros as well.
I was disappointed that this experience wasn't positive, but it could have been.
