We had our first experience with K9 Kountry today, and it was amazing! This is the first time we've taken our puppy (7 months old) to a doggie daycare. She has a sweet disposition but is also very anxious and fearful around new people, new dogs and new situations. We knew she needed exposure and socialization to help build her confidence, but we weren't sure if she'd be able to handle a doggie daycare (and we weren't sure she would pass a temperament test that would allow her into a doggie daycare). Before taking her to daycare, we had her meet the owner, George, and he assessed her while slowly introducing her to his dog pack. George is extremely gifted and skilled when it comes to understanding and interacting with dogs. Although our pup was nervous, George determined she had the potential to make it through doggie daycare. So, today was her first experience (we had her stay for about 4 hours). We got her "report" when we picked her up and we were told she played with some other dogs and made a new "bestie"!!! It's clear how much the staff loves and understands dogs. They weren't deterred by our dog's anxious behavior which I'm sure helped make all of the difference in getting our dog to settle in. We are so thankful for K9 Kountry and are looking forward to making this a part of our routine!
