| - Spent 2 nights and rented a second room for son, his wife and our 4 year old grandson. The property looks good in the dark, but the crumbling driveway and parking lot should have been a giveaway. One room only had the nightstand lamps and was terribly dark. I'm not so sure that the darkness wasn't on purpose to hide the mold on the carpet next to the mini-fridge. The A/C electrical plug in the wall (220v) did not have a protective plate on it leaving wires exposed. Glad this wasn't the room the 4 year old was in. Then there was the toilet with the crack and hole in the bowl. I thought it was residue until I flushed it and water came shooting out. Sort of a bidet. The room was never straightened nor towels replaced after the first night . We asked the housekeeper for an extra hand and bath towel and she noted that she didn't have any (cart was bare). We did receive a bath towel, but no hand towel.
On top of all of this, they lock all of the marked exit doors at night to keep the unsavory element out. The front desk said that they were told to do that by the local police, but I suspect that the fire department wouldn't agree. It basically forces all of the guests to exit through the lobby. That is fine except that the evacuation instructions and lighted signs say to go out the other doors. In a fire situation, there will be panic and injuries. Oh yea and there is no elevator and the stairwell doors (marked keep closed) were strapped open. Probably to help spread the nasty air freshener.
Oh yes, and some of the unsavory they were talking about was probably the hookers. They could be heard quite plainly throughout the hotel enjoying their craft. There is no way the staff couldn't have heard. In the morning, I was taking all of our stuff to the car to get the H*ll out and one of their "ladies" was changing and freshening herself up in the car next to mine. Then she returned to the lobby no doubt for the free breakfast.
Now for the other room, the kids needed a plunger as the shower drain didn't work. The staff brought up a plunger worked on it, couldn't clear the drain and left saying they would send a maintenance worker up. We informed them that we were leaving and would not be in the room. The maintenance person fixed the drain, but then the following morning it was noticed that a bag of our daughter-in-law's expensive makeup and brushes was missing. I speculate that the stolen goods were distributed among their "evening" guests.
Horrible experience. Will never return. Way to go Wyndham.
