You could easily walk right past one of the best terrasse in Montreal if you walked passed Terrasse St-Ambroise on the street side. You have to walk through a gravel parking lot and up a few stairs before reaching this summer beer garden. From the canal, you can't miss it. It's right on the bike path and one of the best places to hang out on the canal. If you've had McAuslan products before, you know they also have some of the best local beer which is brewed onsite. My personal favorite is the Apricot, but they also always have rotating seasonal beers from Maple to Raspberry.
Every year, they seem to add to the terrasse experience - this year, they've expanded the deck and added more seating. There is live music on some nights and the staff is always very friendly. The food menu is also pretty good with burgers and tacos to satisfy your cravings. The only way this place can get better is if they start serving the Annexe food menu outside so we can get nachos with cheese.
