| - I had been going to Sun Auto Care the last couple of times my car needed some repairs, until they lied to me about things I needed to get replaced that shouldn't have needed replacing yet. So I took my 2003 Chevy Impala to Honest 1 Auto Care for a free second opinion. I didn't mention what the other guys told me either.
The guys at Honest 1 told me that I have 3 oil leaks (same as what Sun Auto told me), but they named a valve cover gasket which was different and cheaper to fix than the one Sun Auto said was leaking, plus two other ones, one being able to be fixed w/a proper oil change. They said NOTHING about my brakes or my tires looking bad (as Sun Auto had said), so I asked them about it then and they double checked, and said that everything is fine on the rest of the car, besides needing to watch the CV boots as they're just barely starting to show some wear.
Honest 1 Auto Care is my new place to go to for car repairs and maintenance, as they actually do seem pretty honest and the owner, Rich, is there all the time to ensure his worker's are on point. He's straight forward and treats me with respect.
The only negative I can say is, because I didn't make an appointment to have the second opinion or to have one of the major oil leaks fixed, I had to wait a while before they could get to my car. But to me, their full lot tells me that many other people trust them to have them work on their cars, so it's not too bad of a negative, and I'd give this place 4.5 stars based on my experience with them so far. (They also have a cute little "internet cafe" and a kids play area set up in the waiting room w/a TV, and the usual complimentary coffee.)
I will be taking my car back here for regular oil changes as well, as it seems Jiffy Lube, my usual place, had messed up last time, causing the drain plug to leak.
