Our view of this place is surely tempered by the fact that we got it at a deep discount through Hotwire (see www.betterbidding.com to figure out how to "select" it).
So there may be nicer hotels in the downtown Cleveland area at similar rack rates, but this one met our needs just fine:
- Free, good breakfast! (a rarity in urban hotels)
- Two HD flatscreens!
- Huge room! - the hotel seems to have been converted from condos and the bedroom is normal sized while the living area is huge -- bring your air mattress.
- Great location - walking distance to the downtown museums and lots of interesting restaurants and bars
- Free shuttle bus - we took good advantage of this as it was bad weather during most of our stay. They will take you anywhere within a 2-mile radius of the hotel and were quick to pick up and courteous.
We had no issues with cleanliness or comfort. The desk, bell, shuttle, and valet staffs (to be honest the same person was often doing two or more of these) ranged from efficient to mildly surly. We did have a long wait to retrieve our car from valet as they were understaffed during the checkout rush. There are extra charges for parking ($18/day) and internet ($10/day) but again this seems standard for downtown.
