  • I really came into this restaurant with an open mind. Considering the name of the place (steak and eggs) and being mostly vegetarian/vegan - I already had my doubts... However, I gave it a chance because they had promising menu items that just sounded perfect for a late Tuesday morning. I'd say Rise N' Shine is average and places itself along side known restaurants like Cracked Egg, IHOP, Original Pancake House or Egg Works in good options. For the price, the plate size accommodates well. That being said, value isn't always in the enormous helpings because it should still look and taste great. Rise N Shine fell short here due to the poorly seasoned and lack of flavors, random arrangements of portions on the plate, as well as how underwhelmed you'll feel at nearly $15.00 average per person pricing. Let me elaborate... The poached eggs for the Benedict was very under cooked which is very unappealing. The red onions were stacked and kept in a ring formation giving you overwhelming bites of red onion which completely takes away from the harmonious flavors of hollandaise, capers and lox. :( The oatmeal is served in a deep large white ramekin which to the average adult may be great, because it keeps the bottom lava hot - but for us parents - this is a disaster as you'll spend several minutes cooling off every bite for even the most advanced toddlers. The french press in all of its glory was very basic in flavor and could use a better selection of roast to complete the experience. Overall this place is so-so for kids and really comes across as your sub-par Saturday or Sunday morning and lunch place - which I'm sure has astronomical wait times, as they usually do. Oh and the wait staff is definitely new and needs some practice with sense of urgency and ability to recall orders and average requests from one table to the next. Largest negative takeaways from that $$ classification will be the lack of parking in this ALWAYS busy location as well as price over value over satisfaction ratio that just isn't hitting high numbers right now. For the heavy meat eaters or 1200+ calorie seekers, might be most suitable. But for those consciously healthy folks, or parents with large families, you'll find challenges. Solid 3 at best.
