  • You really do go back in time when you visit Durant's. It has been here as long as I can remember. We went for lunch last week and it was a visual experience as well as a good lunch. Entering through the kitchen was something that doesn't happen at any other restaurant that I know of. The kitchen staff greeted us profusely. We then entered the dining room which was speakeasy dark. The red velvet flocked wallpaper and the dark red leather booths conspired to conjure up images of Capone and Siegel. The service was attentive but not overly so. Our server, Jeff, gave us ample time to enjoy our cocktails before ordering. The food was excellent. A bit pricy, but hey! I had the "Italian" sandwich and hubby had the Patty Melt. Both were delicious. We will be back soon. Hope to see you there!
