| - First off, we visited three times during 2015. Each visit got progressively worse and we haven't returned since...
THE VISIT
We live within walking distance and had never given this place a try. Swing by one Sunday morning and its nice enough to sit outside. Our waiter is fantastic and welcomes us warmly. He gives us a tour through the menu and his drink recommendations are on point. We order brunch and my Eggs Benedict are truly remarkable. I actually eat slowly just to savor each bite. We also had a bread board that was phenomenal. We leave with smiles on our faces, vowing to return very soon. Score: 5/5
THE VISIT (The Sequel)
It's Mother's Day! We had such a wonderful first experience at St Francis that we want to share it with others. We invite our Mom (and all my siblings and their kids) to brunch. We are seated at the window booth near the entrance and have bread boards to go around. Everyone loves their orders, including my picky mother. However, my husband and I notice items that are over-cooked, under-cooked and dried out (breaks, ham, etc). In addition, we really had to work to keep the attention of our server when she was needed. Score 3/5
THE VISIT (The Finale)
We bring our young daughters with us to grab a late lunch\early dinner. It takes quite awhile to be acknowledged after we enter, even though the place is NOT busy. Once greeted, we are still made to wait nearly 10 minutes before being seated. Again...the VAST majority of tables are empty. Our waitress spends a great deal of time chatting with different co-workers before taking our order. She did not check back on us until flagged, even though our food was taking quite awhile AND we had asked that the children's food be sent out first. They never got this message and it all came out at the same time. Unfortunately, the girls got the wrong order (how do you mess up pancakes...?) and my pork chili was COOL....like, not hot...or warm...but ewww...borderline cold. When I ask for a manager I am given the excuse that they are switching things out in the kitchen to ready for dinner service. Not sure why that is an proper excuse for cold-ish food, incorrect orders, inattentive servers, etc. We end up leaving with unhappy children and finished with our patronage at this restaurant. Score 2/5
There are SO many fantastic restaurants in Uptown...no need to waste time and money at places that are so-so at best. Unfortunately, for us, this place is not worth the effort.
