| - At first, after reading all the bad reviews about this place, I was unsure whether I was making a mistake booking an appointment with this facility. I was very nervous, as I let the negative comments about this office give me a bad perception. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU READ!
TO MY SURPRISE, the front office receptionist was extremely polite & very helpful as well as welcoming. I watched how the other staff were with clients waiting in the waiting room, which were very nice & complimenting. One reviewer stated that there were "drug addicts" in the waiting room. Well, I was not in a waiting room with "drug addicts", more like a mother with her grandchild & daughter. Then an elderly woman & elderly man waiting to be seen. My wait was actually not too long either. I was given a "same day" appointment which is rare because they were booked but the receptionist went out of her way to set me up with an appointment due to the condition of my injury (bitten by a dog on my hand).
The waiting room chairs were comfortable & the T.V./magazine selection was just enough to grab your attention during your wait if you didn't have a cell phone to ponder with. They ask that you get to your first appointment 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork, which I like because that doesn't take time away from your appointment. The nurse whom took my vitals was very polite as she escorted us to my room.
The office is not as up-to-date as other offices but this doesn't take away from the quality of care they perform. Some times offices that spend a big budget on fancy "medical stuff" & fancy furniture are masking over the quality of their performance. Once inside the room we waited about 20 minutes to see the doctor which is not too bad of a wait, I don't understand how anyone would want to see a doctor that rushes through appointments. One reviewer pointed out their bio hazard disposal box, well when in the room I did see their bio hazard disposal but I have seen this at other hospitals & offices. This didn't give me too much concern other than they're following proper protocol in disposing of bio hazard material as such is the law.
Now onto my actually encounter with the doctor. I saw Dr. Shawn Mecham, whose manner was extremely nice & very informative. I asked him questions about a prescription that the hospital administered to me and he was fully aware of the medicine & explained how it worked for my condition. He even went so far as to getting a second opinion from the owner/head doctor Mark E. Mckenzie, MD. When Dr. Mark E. Mckenzie, MD, came in to exam me, he was very gentle & comforting. He even went so far as to referring me to a hand specialist to be on the safe side. Dr. Mark E. Mckenzie, MD, is a very funny, loving fellow too. He makes you feel comfortable & not like a number but a person. I could go on & on about my wonderful experience at this office but I see that this has gotten extremely long & my hand is starting to hurt (from the dog bite). All in all, I highly recommend this office, if you want satisfaction & peace of mind with your condition.
