I have had many positive experiences with the TTC, and I find the public transit very convenient in this city. It's a great way to get around Toronto and a fraction of the price compared to taxis, uber's, parking fees, etc. However, I recently had a deplorable encounter that soiled my optimistic view towards the TTC. A younger family member of mine was taking the subway back home, and because of her age and general lack of knowledge I was going to walk through the gate with her and get her on the subway train. However, when I walked through without paying, one of the employees of the TTC went berserk. She began yelling (yes, actually screaming) at me. I told her that I was just trying to make sure that my young family member got on the right subway train and then I'd be on my way. Well this employee continued on yelling and shoved her finger in my face pointing at me. She was extremely vicious and very in my space. After minutes of trying to explain myself (and a small crowd gathering to watch her scream) she said "I'll allow you to go this one time" like she was the almighty Subway emperor granting me mercy. I am appalled by her aggressive attitude and regret that I will need to use the TTC again!
