| - *Decided to re-post as it seems I wasn't the only one who had the same issues.
A year or so ago I visited this salon. I had to wait in the 'waiting area' which consisted of no seats and wall-to-wall product while another small group was checking out. I stood there for over 20 minutes waiting while they picked out lotions, lollygagged, and checked out. BUT, there was 3 girls sitting behind the counter, why wouldn't one of those girls just go ahead and walk me to the locker room or at the very least show me around? Once in the locker room I noticed how filthy it was (girls still sitting on their asses at the front counter), robes and sandals and garbage all over the floor including tampons not to mention the water all over the floor. I go out to tell them it's nasty and the managers response was "well a group just left so it's expected" so why not go right away and have one of those girls sitting around texting to clean it up? I even offered to sit in the sauna to wait while they cleaned up but rather was told the sauna wasn't working and was on a timer which was unfortunate. So, still in the locker room and I'm asked my shoe size, TWICE the girl screwed up the sizes, why would I need one small shoe and one large one? It's not rocket science ladies. Still at this point, girls are still hanging around the counter and the locker room is STILL dirty and uncleaned... I was the only female there as it was quite dead. I decided to go to the lounge which was not private at all, it's a main foot traffic area. Still, no one touched the locker room. Each time I said it was dirty, it was the same robot response "well, a large group just left" (it was 3 girls, I don't consider that a big group btw).
Once I finally was called in for the massage, I asked for the Swedish as I've had quite amazing ones. I felt like my skin was barely touched and there was zero pressure, it literally felt like a feather. I DID ask for more pressure and halfway through I said I give up and just felt uncomfortable being touched and couldn't relax. There was also sand or something all over the floor, it was odd, again another point in their cleanliness area.
When I checked out I did express my concerns about the quality of service, the cleanliness, and the awkward massage. Not even a "we're sorry" or "possible discount to try us again?" instead, the manager rebuttals me over Yelp, yikes, but could've easily rectified the situation. OH and I thought my therapist was lazy BUT she still got tipped which there is a 20% tip automatic add-on which I had NO IDEA about til checkout and they were not budging on this even though I said my experience was terrible. Who would tip a lazy complaining server? I wouldn't. Isn't that against the law if it's not disclosed? Aren't tips to the customers discretion? It wouldn't be a tip, but rather a fee, learn proper legality language please.
Overall, this establishment is lazy and these ladies are not the brightest crayons in the box. I've told tons of colleagues and friends to bypass this place. I felt like a rockstar/VIP at Hibiscus Spa at the Westin... LOVED it there!
