| - Seating: This place has an uppity, progressive/hipster environment with a good build-out and a decent seating arrangement.
Environment: This place attempts to create an oxymoron by juxtaposing two seemingly unrelated things: farm food and cool,young,progressive/hipsters. This kinda seems like they are making a stab at country food and county people by making it into a novelty.
Service: The service (after 3 visits) is hit-or-miss. The environment is that of a hipster, "cool person" hang out. A lot of the servers have an alternative look with tattoos and piercings and less than everyday hairdos. So, sometimes the servers act cool and laid-back. This leads to them being slow and unattentive at times because they are too busy being laid back and cool. We ordered coffee three times. Refills were slow every time. If you're a morning coffee person and you're paying $2.25+ for coffee, you expect refills. Although I will say, the coffee here is excellent.
Food: Food is pretty good. Good presentation. Large Portions. Cooked well.
Like I said, it seems like they are attempting to create a menu of totally exaggerated, larger than life dishes. Fattening, full of butter, oil, and starchy carbohydrates, just like you would eat on a farm (so they think.) However, true country people that grew up on a farm needed all the extra calories because they were working their butts off all day outside. This restaurant plays on the idea of being a country, farmer "hick" by hyperbolizing and exaggerating the consumption of high fat, high sugar, "corn fed" food.
Overall: I would recommend anyone try this at least once. I'm not all about the cool person, tatted-up, slow service environment. But, if you are, you may enjoy it.
