Finally got to check out Kid Cashew. Not sure how I feel. I really wanna go 2.5 stars, but there wasn't enough wow to round up to that third one.
Cool vibe. Nice decor. Comfy patio seating.
We decided to check it out, because Yelp said they're dog friendly. We got a lot of bizarre and irritated looks from the staff by bringing our pups on the patio. So I'd leave your furry friends at home for this one.
Food was pretty good. Nothing that really made me go "Oooh" but not a bad meal. The menu definitely pumped me up. We tried the octopus (a bit too chewy to eat), the Brussel sprouts (pretty good!), the Greek salad (lots of onions...but okay to share), the potato gratin (definitely again, too many onions. Maybe 3 fingerlings in a bowl of cheesy onions), the open face chicken sandwich (our server told us it's more of a chicken salad - and it was- so don't expect a breast of chicken or normal sandwich) and a gelato sundae (really disappointing.. they must have forgotten it because it came out melted and the server kinda shrugged it off when we asked).
Drinks? Skip. We tried three (Rosemary, basil, and goat breast milk) - they all were just different variations of each other. Shoulda gone with wine - the list was pretty good.
Service was mediocre and slow. Kinda careless. water refills were pretty scarce (maybe why similar hip restaurants leave bottles on the table?). Drinks took a while to get out. Server messed up a few of our orders and kinda questioned us on it. Oh well. Maybe it's just an off night. Might go back to try the butcher meat - but would probably just order it to go.
