  • I literally planned a trip around this place! We were staying in Flagstaff and made one trip down to Phoenix but I knew I had to make another trip down to come to this botanical garden. It was amazing! This is exactly what you think of when you think of AZ. The beautiful variations of cacti. The grounds are massive, with different areas focusing on different plants. This place is amazing for photos! I loved seeing all the varieties of plants, learning new facts and spotting some cacti that is also native to my home Florida! I also love that they had a section with the perfect photo op, they tell gusts where to stand and they have a stand to set your phone on for the perfect angle and crop! Great way to integrate social media too! I was so lucky to be there on a day when they had the butterfly exhibit. They had a green house area and you walked into a closed house filled with butterflys. It was amazing, just put your hand out and these colorful creatures would land right on you. As you left they make sure none stay on you and escape the enclosure. It really is out in the dessert so the backdrops are beautiful too. You can also encounter some wild life, be careful around the food areas for critters trying to score some scraps! Everything is very well taken care of, clean and the plants all look so healthy! This is a must do while in the area.
