  • Still going strong. My favorite place to stay in the valley if not anywhere. Service was outstanding as usual, and the food was fantastic. I love Rita's, and they have phenomenal room service. The staff is exceptional and they exceed what is required, far outpacing the service at any high end resorts. By way of example, they only had USA Today (which I don't consider a newspaper, but more of a kids picture book) at breakfast, and I asked if they had the local paper. The hostess said Id have to go to gift shop to buy it. The host (there was a man and a woman), however, showed up a couple minutes later at my table with the AZ paper for free. On his own initiative he went to get me one. This is service. There was a quirk the second day at breakfast, and they appeared to be understaffed as tables outside were covered in dirty dishes and not being cleared the entire time I ate. As a result, they weren't seating people outside. This disorder is out of the ordinary for this property, so have given them a pass this time. Room was spectacular--they all are, and all rooms are unique in their own way. The décor is traditional southwestern, and dated, which some people don't like. I personally wouldn't decorate my home with it, but for the purpose of this resort it fits perfectly, and I hope it doesn't change. I could walk the hotel grounds all day. They are serene and tranquil--beyond peaceful. They've had nearly a century to cultivate and grow, and shape these gorgeous grounds into what they are. Many animals/birds inhabit the grounds, and waking up each morning to zoo sounds is an amazing way to start your day. The way the casitas and rooms are set up, each feels private and special, and away from the others and the outside world. A big plus is that your parking is included in the resort fee. Few hotels do this anymore, and charge $30 on top of the resort fee for parking. I will always return.
