  • I hosted a pierogi buffet sort of thing for a friend who is moving to another state. A very Cleveland goodbye. After checking out Yelp reviews of various places to get pierogies around CLE, it sounded like Rudy's might be my best bet as I wanted several types/flavors of pierogi, and they had a bunch listed on their website. We stopped at Rudy's around 11am on a Saturday, and had no problem picking up 4 dozen pierogies (potato and onion, potato and cheddar, mushroom and onion, and potato, bacon and cheese). We also picked up some apricot kolaczki's and a fritter type thing. For everything, I paid $28 or $29. A dozen pierogies cost about $6/dozen. After seeing several places charging $10/dozen or $5 or $6 for half a dozen, I was relieved to find affordable pierogies. Everything we purchased was delicious, and I will definitely stop at Rudy's again for kolaczki's, strudels, rolls, pierogies, etc. My only slight frustrations were that they didn't have as many types of pierogies available as were listed on the website. Maybe they were already sold by the time I arrived. Also, there were no indicators on the 4 bags of pierogies as to what kind they were. they had different color twisty ties at the top, but no notation as to what each color twisty tie represented flavor-wise. that would have been helpful as I was serving a vegetarian and didn't want that person to end up with bacon/potato/cheese pierogies. In the end, I tested one pierogi from each bag to figure out the flavor, which isn't exactly a hardship. :) Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
