| - This restaurant definitely seemed upscale both inside and out. Therefore, the food was priced accordingly as well. It was about $14 per entree (or more if you decide to get it with seafood). The appetizers were $7-10. I ordered the Pad Kemao with beef and it was pretty good, I must say. Normally, Thai restaurants give you the option of mild, medium or very spicy and they usually all taste medium. This place, however, definitely put the heat on. I was crying as I ate my food, taking sips of water in between and appreciating the fact that they were truthful to the level of spiciness. I couldn't finish the dish and decided to get it to-go.
My girlfriend, on the other hand, was not satisfied with the Pad See Aew with chicken that she ordered. We go to Thai places often and know what Pad See Aew is supposed to taste like; this was not a good example. The flavors were VERY off and it seemed to have a cooked-bad-egg smell in it. I knew from the first bite that I would detest the dish. As the waitress came to give me our bill, my girlfriend spoke up about how she did not like the dish. The waitress then got the manager, who was surprisingly very receptive to whatever she had to say. He decided to get the chef to prepare a new Pad See Aew in hopes that the flavors would be right this time. Unfortunately, it still had the horrible bad-egg smell. He then urged her to order a new dish, and my girlfriend decided to get the Pineapple Fried Rice. We got that dish to-go as it was getting late and we had dessert on the way.
The desert was deep-friend banana and coconut ice cream. This is by far the best of this dish I have ever had and my girlfriend agrees.
The next day, I open the to-go boxes to microwave for lunch only to find THEY GAVE ME SOMEONE ELSE'S TO-GO BOX!!! I didn't realize it until I had microwaved it and took a small bite... DISGUSTING!!! I was totally furious with that place now! For an expensive Thai restaurant, nothing was going right. On top of that, the Pineapple Fried Rice was less than mediocre.
PROS: Nice interior and exterior decor.
CONS: Everything else. I gave it 2 stars because the manager was very understanding. Otherwise, the food and waitress service would be 1 star.
