  • I am not a big meat eater, but I absolutely love Chima! I'll even eat rare meat here, it's that good! For $40, you get a lot. It starts with a high-end salad bar (my favorites include the hearts of palm, artichokes, shrimp, calamari, and beef carpaccio). You also get an endless supply of meat (my favorites are the bacon-wrapped filet, boneless chicken, lamb chops, and the sausage). On top of that, they keep your table full with several really delicious sides (creamy mashed potatoes, Brazilian fried meatballs, fried polenta strips, Parmesan bread, fried bananas, and a turkey spread). The bread was my favorite - it almost tasted like a mini popover! But everything else was really good as well, and we tried them all. The drinks were good, too, although a bit pricey - most of the martinis run $9.50 a pop. Service is the absolute best -- extremely efficient, very friendly, and helpful. At one point, I was trying to get the attention of the gentleman carrying the ribs, and when another waitress saw me trying to get his attention, she quickly ran after him and asked him to visit our table. What great service! At the end of the meal, rather than having a drink, my husband and his friend tried the Brazilian mate tea (pronounced mah-tey), and that was an experience! If you like strong tea (and don't mind it being slightly bitter), I highly recommend you give mate a try at Chima! They serve the tea loose on top of a huge mug, and you slowly add hot water and let the tea steep inside the mug before taking a sip with the special straw. I'll end this by saying that Chima is one of our top favorites in Charlotte and if you have not been, I highly recommend that you give them a try!
