I had a timing belt replaced. After they replaced the belt, the car leaked oil. I brought the car back 4 times to have the oil leak fixed. I was charge at $200 for each visit. It wasn't till they kept the car over night that they found that their mechanic had "fixed" my car with broken parts. They did whatever they need to fix the oil leak but I received no statement about the repairs. No offer to reimburse me for the repairs that didn't fix anything. Much to my disappointment the car began leaking coolant. I was so angry that there was no way I was going to have them fix this. Fast forward one year to this Jan and the water pump went. The water pump was under warranty they replaced the pump at no charge. The new manager asked me why I quit using their services, replaced the water pump and gave me a receipt. he was stunned with my story.
In march I had a check engine light come on. The same diagnostic code was when the they told me I needed a new timing belt. The place I took the car to couldn't make sense of the code but gave the code to me. I checked the code online and discovered that the error code was for a clogged oil filter that balances the oil pressure between the piston banks. After getting an oil change and driving 10 miles the error cleared...That was a 3500 repair I didn't need.
Two weeks ago ... the water pump went. Had the car towed to a dealer who fix the issue for 300 dollars less than Willoughby hills auto. I am going to ask them to reimburse me the monies for this repair. If they don't its off to small claims.
At my place of employment they are know as the home of the $300 oil change. They just seem to up sell till you run dry.
