Okay, I am a little late jumping on the Sprouts bandwagon. I decided to do a little shopping here since I was at Bookman's next door. A Sprouts will soon be opening at 48th St and Ray Rd in Ahwatukee, so I wanted to check it out.
Plus? They have NY Style half sour pickles. Two varieties. I bought the Nathan's brand at $4.99 a jar instead of the other brand at $6.99. I should have bought the other brand. Still, I have not been able to find these outside of Chompie's in AZ. I actually considered buying a gallon of pickles on the internet for $65 shipped from NYC. I am not a fan of pickles, but half sours are just UH-MAZ-ING.
Another Plus? They have good prices on bulk items and fruit, when buying fruit in large quantities.
Question: do they really charge you full price if you don't buy 4 cartons of strawberries when they are on sale? It seems that way from their signage. If so, I had better get together with my neighbors when buying fruit. Who has room for four cartons of strawberries?
Minus? They don't have many alternative dairy products options. They have some shreds and some hunks of "cheese," but Whole Foods has about 40 million more products in this category.
Another Plus? They have tons of vitamins and supplements, if you are looking for that sort of thing.
Overall, Sprouts just doesn't have everything I need for MY kind of grocery shopping. I can see it as a place to go when I want a quick sandwich (it's only $2.99) or some flour, granola or dried fruit in bulk.
