| - Well Doubletree, you started out at 5 stars. We were greeted by a very friendly concierge and given two of the most delicious chocolate chip cookies in my life. I really would love a lifetime supply of them. The room is very nice, actually nicer than I thought it would be. Big, comfy bed, desk and couch, plus it was neat and tidy.
So, it's advertised as being minutes away from everything. It IS in fact a minute away from the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame but that's about it. I think minutes might mean 30. There wasn't much else around. No restaurants, no cool stores, nada. Disappointing for sure. But...
They promise a shuttle service. You probably could have had a nice long walk into downtown and to the stadiums (we were there for an Indians game) but it was hot as hades out and it just wasn't going to happen. So it was great to find out they had shuttle service. They even gave you a nifty card to call them when you were done. Service ends at 10:30pm, which I thought was kinda early, but whatever. We called a little before 10p and the phones mail box was "full." Shady! We also called the second number, the hotel one, no answer. Double shady! So we ended up cabbing it back. Well...
The next day we were getting ready and I swear I heard voices or music. I was so confused. Was a radio on? No. Was there people in the hallway? No. Haunted? Perhaps. We got back later that night and went to bed. That's when we heard it again. But we quickly figured out what it was. The people next door! We could hear their ENTIRE conversation, crystal clear. They weren't yelling either, just talking. Talking about Tom Cruise, about kissing each other and how Taylor Swifts second album is much better than the first. Then we heard IT. YOU KNOW... IT! Thankfully it lasted only a couple seconds (okay, that's kinda funny) but gawd... so gross! I've stayed in my share of hotels and have NEVER had such thin walls before. Then...
The next morning I got in the shower and the water wasn't coming out. Then it would come out a little, then a lot, then not at all and over and over. I was already in there wet, with no time to call down, so I just did what I could with a dripping faucet. So...
The ONLY stand out was that EVERY. single. person we came into contact with was super friendly. Every worker greeted you and asked how your day was. Costumer service is suburb and I was very impressed. That was the only saving grace. Oh, and maybe the Starbucks in the lobby. And...
That's why I would not recommend this place. Well, potentially if they gave me a lifetime supply of their chocolate chip cookies!
