I don't get the hype of this place at all. I thought the food was mediocre, at best. After a long day of shopping and shmoozing, my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a fancy shmancy dinner. 2 things that stand out here is, the service and atmosphere. The bar and dining room is decorated like it was a beautiful circus tent. But, the food did not match. The Amuse Bouche was a sweet strawberry cream with goat cheese which I thought was too sweet to prepare for us for the next course. It did not cleanse the palate but instead made us feel we were eating dessert. This was served after the apps but before the main course. For apps I had the Escargot which was prepared out of the shell. The garlic butter sauce was bland and the snails were chewy and overdone. The croutons were served mixed into the dish which in turn made them mushy. Had to be the worst preparation of Escargot I've ever eaten. For my main dish I had the Atlantic Cod. The fish was fine.... BORING......... Yes, of course the size of the main course would have left a baby starving but that's not my beef. It's that it lacked any creativity or flavor. Same went for dessert. I had the Chocolate Souffle. This souffle compared to Bottega Louie's is like comparing Boones Farm to Chateau LaTour.
The service was excellent, yes... but the lack of flavor and creativity made this dinner forgettable.
LA fine dining blows Vegas out of the water.
