  • In 2010 saw Dr. Kowalski. My medical records had not arrived, so I gave her the one think I brought with me, my D&C pathology report. She never had the pictures of my uterus. The pathology report said grade 1 endometrial cancer. Cancer cell founds, no tumors or masses. Without any further testing scheduled me for a radical hysterectomy. After surgery I was told no surgery was found, it must have been a very new surgery (possible polyp) and was removed with the D&C. She removed 21 lymph nodes even though there was no visible signs of cancer. Wish she was have stopped when she did see any signs of cancer. About 4 weeks later my internal stitches opened and I suffered an evisceration of my small intestine. Emergency surgery! She was on vacation and never contacted me. Shortly after that the lymphedema set in and my real nightmare began. I know Kowalski is highly respected in the medical community, I'm told she is one of the best. Though, I know others that have had horrible experiences with her. She is very quick to use her DaVinci robot and remove everything. Wished she would have listened to the pain I was experiencing (nothing to do with cancer). Instead, she said lets take care of the cancer and then we will figure out what else is going on. She was the specialist, I was the patient and I followed her lead. Doctors make mistakes, she made a huge one with me. My final pathology report says no cancer found. Her final diagnosis is stage 1 endometrial cancer!!!!! She found no cancer, pathology report says no cancer, yet my diagnosis is stage 1 endometrial cancer. I will never understand that. Think she should have done other tests on me. When she first met me, my mom was with me, she thought my mom was the patient. I didn't fit the usual profile (whatever that is). That should have been her first clue to do more testing. Today, my diagnosis is chronic lymphedema, secondary to the radical hysterectomy. It has taken me this many years to post my review. It has been a rough ride with the lymphedema and I needed my anger at Kowalski to subside. She made a mistake, wish she would own it.
