After doing the Saw escape room a couple of weeks ago, I've been totally hooked and can't get enough of them. The Basement is one I've seen being constantly advertised on my Facebook and I knew I would have to go try it.
After doing a few of these I've noticed the reoccurring theme is to stuff as many people as possible into these rooms. What's nice about the basement is when you are booking online you can actually see how many people have booked other times ....... I STRONGLY RECOMMEND BOOKING ONE WITH NO MORE THAN 6 as more than that seems to drastically overwhelm the room and general experience.
My sister and I were so scared to go alone that we we decided to book with a time slot that had 7 other people ........ our scheduled time was for 8:15 with the online registration stating to get there 15 minutes early to sign waivers .......... my sister and I made arrived at 7:50 ........ the other 7 didn't make it until 8:25 and took an additional 10 minutes to finish the waivers making us 20 minutes late to start.
Once all the paperwork was done the host explains some back story and we are sent into a room to lock up our personal items and to watch a video explaining the rules ........ after the video we were instructed to place black sacks over our heads and the escape began ..........
I will say the production of the escape room was very nice ......... no where near the Saw escape room but compared to others it was decent. Since we had so many people everyone was discovering things at different times making the communication difficult. Once you go far enough you will discover one of the actors. He did help and give clues which was very helpful.
My tips .........
- book a room with no more than 6 people
- check in on yelp to receive an additional flashlight which will come in very handy
- use promo code KNIGHTS to receive 25% off
