I stayed at Le meridien locations throughout the US and chose Le meridien Charlotte because of the indoor hot tub and soft beds I knew they'd have. 1st i was giving a double room after specifically booking a king room. The girl at the front desk seemed frustrated when I asked to change rooms so she told me nothing was available. I asked for management and she told me she'd see what she could do suddenly. It was mid afternoon on a Monday, I knew the hotel wasnt booked fully, she just didn't want to help. I asked if she could check the adjoining Sheraton, she said they had nothing King as well. A few hours later she manically found me a room. The new room- the chair was disgustingly filthy! The shower ran all night, the adjoining room door would not lock and I could hear the guy next door as if he was in the same room as me. I finally got a chance to visit the pool and hottub and the hot hottub was dirty and had mold all on the walls. I did not get inside at all. When I tried to address these issues with the staff, I was told someone director level would contact me from two different departments. The calls never happened and I felt completely brushed off. I checked out before my Charlotte visit was to end and went to the aloft for my last day where I was treated very well and the facilities were spotless and fresh! I visit Charlotte NC often for business and will never return to Le Meridien or Sheraton on McDowell street as they are both in dire need of a serious renovation and staff is in need of a class on customer service!
