We were very disappointed with our recent experience with Legacy Funeral Home in Chandler, AZ. While they had been adequate the past two times I used them, this time was a horrible experience. My husband died and I called Legacy. The man who came to pick up his body was disrespectful, in my opinion. He was joking around that the funeral home had once been a restaurant so he would go in and ask for spaghetti sauce. Not what a grieving spouse needs to hear as she's saying goodbye. It gets worse. I had prepared all the paperwork ahead of time to help me when the time came. All that sensitive paperwork (that I hand delivered to them) was "lost". Very concerning since it included social security numbers, etc. Then when I went into the viewing room for my last goodbye with my husband of almost 30 years, he was wrapped in a worn quilt which appeared to have a dried blood stain on it. So disgusting and again, disrespectful. I explained how the ashes were to be divided. They were not divided as requested...not even close. So even though I had a better experience for my mother and my brother, including a much more sensitive experience with the handling of their bodies, this time was terrible. I definitely won't be using them again, and have encouraged friends to cancel pre-arrangements they had with them. Really a horrible, horrible experience at a tender time of grieving.
