A+ for character and value, but if I stayed at a hotel in the condition of the Flamingo anywhere other than their stellar central-strip location, I would never return. The carpet is stained, pulled up, and smells like used gym socks. The rooms are a bit austere (e.g. laminate flooring), but much cleaner. Advice: bite the bullet and pay for an upgrade. The crowds tend to be older/families/college kids. I'm not super impressed with any of their bars or restaurants, and the prices are as high as nicer casio/hotels'. The habitat is nice though - love that they have real flamingos and a fun adult pool. Despite the you-get-what-you-pay-for factor, customer service is friendly and helpful for the most part.
