| - We recently took our Dachshund, Francis, to the Emergency Animal Clinic when she got her foot caught in a door and seemed like it may have been broken. It was evening so our regular vet was closed. The staff greeted us with a smile and genuine concern and we were checked in quickly. We were only one of three patients so our wait wasn't long and the service was stellar.
The vet techs treated Francis kindly and with great care and the veterinarian herself was friendly and very thorough. By the time we were seen Francis was putting weight on her foot and seemed much better (of course!), so after examining her the doctor gave us several options stating that it seemed to be a soft tissue injury so x-rays were our choice, but she didn't feel they were needed at that time. She also provided us with a few different types of pain management options which allowed us to consider the cost and need for each. In no way did they push more expensive options on us, which I was afraid of since it is an emergency clinic. She discussed each option, the price and what her recommendation was, then asked our thoughts so we could make an educated and safe decision.
We ended up only paying the cost of the visit itself ($95) as well as the cost of two days worth of pain meds. We feel that the peace of mind of a professional examination/opinion was well worth the cost.
At the end of the visit, the vet tech provided detailed instructions on how to use and administer the meds, including a visual where she actually did it herself so we could see how it was done.
We would definitely recommend the Emergency Animal Clinic for their genuine concern, friendly and attentive demeanor, thorough care and treatment options.
