  • CAREFUL - AVIS SCAMMED US + they have horrific customer service. We were asked if wanted insurance and GPS and we said no. After the employee working there gave us the contract, we saw an additional fee of $100+ in the contract. We asked the employee what was this additional fee for, since we prepaid for our entire booking in advance (we always do this to avoid additional fees and complications after our very long overseas flight). The employee insured us that that the additional fee of $100+ was just a reservations fee and that we had no worries and that that sum would be fully refunded after we returned the car. To our surprise, a few days later, we noticed that we were fully charged for that additional sum of $100+. When we contacted AVIS customer service and asked why? They told us that additional sum of $100+ was insurance. We explained to their customer service that their employ assured us that additional sum (mentioned in the contract) was just a reservation fee and not insurance. We have used AVIS everytime single time when we go to Vegas. This is the last time we will use it since we do not feel we can trust AVIS anymore nor trust their employees. Their employees lied to use and basically scammed us out of $100+ for insurance that we didn't want. Becareful and do not trust the employees.
