My husband and I returned from a trip to Cancun on Saturday, August 8, 2014, and we went to the Business Valet to pick up our car. A valet met us at the door to take our bags to our car in the garage while we paid our bill. Upon our return home, we discovered our FijuFilm camera was missing. It was in my carry-on bag when I left Cancun and the bag was not out of my possession until we relinquished the bags to the valet in Charlotte. My carry-on bag was on top of my checked-in luggage when the valet took our bags. Upon paying our bill and heading out to our car, we saw the valet next to our car AND our bags and they were not placed in the car. Perhaps he didn't have time to put them in the car after going through my carry-on! I would recommend not using this service before doing your homework on other theft that has occurred at this valet. If you do have to use the service, DO NOT let the valets have possession of your bags.
We were in a bailment situation; therefore, the valet service should have been responsible for our possessions upon taking the bags from us. We have used this service since it first started. Now with all of the construction nightmares at Charlotte-Douglas, they know the parking options are limited and probably feel they can get by with this and it won't hurt their business.
