| - Ok you tend to write a review when it's really good or really bad...unfortunately this was very bad...it's my second time here, both times others have chosen it and told me how upscale it is....hmmm...I've eaten in the French Laundry.....this last time at Harvest was indescribably bad. But I'll try and describe anyhow....
First trip I was truly underwhelmed and hoped Madison had better, because we were moving here from Atlanta and because if this is upscale and the best Madison has to offer Madison needs a palate cleansing.
This trip in a party of 10, nearly the only table in the place, the bar restaurant next door was buzzing. It was definitely pretentious which I don't mind if the food is good, but please accurately describe the dishes when asked, fail. And if you aren't going to put salt (rarely at a decent place would I expect salt) on the table at least then season the food; under seasoned. I had the rabbit confit as an app...swimming in oil....my wife had the pork chop, cold and raw in the middle....likewise a friend had the same experience cold and raw....so with one table of 10 in the place you can't deliver 10 consistent properly cooked plates.
My gnocchi was horrible, gritty, who wants gritty gnocchi? Poor texture, maybe someone would like it but the flavor profile was off, like the Atlanta chef/owner on Top Chef of "Rosebud", I've eaten there and yes he did put vanilla on steak...him and the chef at Harvest would probably get along....but they are catering to the 1%...the 1% with off kilter taste buds. Will not be back...oh my cheese cake was "deconstructed" which seemed to consist of warm cheese part of the cheesecake swimming in some sort of syrup...awful.
I will not be back..."Oh you want to go to Harvest again, sorry no can do".
