I grew up going to Soergel's with my parents for fresh produce, the best pies in the area, and plants in the spring/summer. I used to love to wander the aisles and see all of the delicious food. After we were finished shopping, I would usually get an ice cream or a cookie from the bakery and stop to pet the animals before leaving for home. As I have grown up, so has Soergels. It just keeps getting better. They have wonderful events and activities for the whole family, almost the entire year. Their pies are to die for; a holiday or celebration is not complete without one.
The thing I love the most now, as an adult with food sensitivities, is their Naturally Soergel's section. Set apart from the rest of the market, it is a shop dedicated to those with food allergies and sensitivities. Gluten free/ dairy free/ egg free/ soy free- you can find almost anything you need. They carry multiple brands as well as baked goods from some local gluten-free/dairy-free bakeries in the area. (Gluuteny is my favorite!)
Everyone at Soergel's is friendly and ready to help. Wexford has become much more congested and commercial as I have gotten older, but, Soergel's still treats you like family. I am so glad that it has only gotten better as the years have gone by.
