| - I shopped at this new-and-improved big grocery store occasionally when necessary and my overall experience was standard for Arizona quality. Except for this:
Last Friday night at the checkout, when I got my receipt and could not find which $3 (for $50.+) e-coupon was applied and requested that the young male cashier, Chris, to point it out. (There were other $3-off coupons there.) When he wasn't exactly sure which/where and pointed to the customer service manager, Malinda (young, petite, skinny, glasses, hair in bun- just unapproachable), to go ahead and credit me (Chris was unable to get his register to do it). Malinda was clueless about e-coupons (offered on Fry's official website(!)) and asked me again what Chris instructed her to do and when reiterated, she went ahead at another register and in a stammer manner, credited me. I told her she's supposed to apologize for the store's incompetence, and she was just all scowling as if she's not paid to do what Chris instructed her to do. I contacted Fry's customer service online after I got home and to this day, have not heard back from them (big surprise)...
2 stars for the $3 credit successfully applied and 1 star for you-know-why, right?
UPDATE: I heard back from Fry's customer service via e-mail (Wednesday morning) and they apologized for the awkward and unprofessional experience and would be sharing it with the store director. However, I think Malinda should be demoted to stock girl position because she cannot handle working with the public. So, I am feeling better and may give them another shopping chance. Thanks, Fry's, for listening to your customers!
