  • Like nearly every single resident I spoke with; I elected not to renew my lease with Luxe. By making this choice I feel as if an enormous burden has been lifted, both financial and emotional. The parking situation was truly abysmal. Adding insult to injury Luxe did not include reserved covered outdoor parking with my overpriced 1.7K apartment (a smaller two bedroom as I require a home office). I paid for a desirable reserved spot near a main entryway. Because the signage identifying that the spot was reserved was so small and poorly lit I had to deal with towing unauthorized vehicles every other week and the drama associated with such drastic action. Let me be absolutely clear, Luxe does not have enough parking to accommodate its residents let alone their guests. This is a fatal design flaw in this complex. Those who did not pay for a reserved spot were often left cruising the parking lot aimlessly waiting for parking to open up. Here is where things take a turn for the worse. Luxe implemented a policy of resident only parking making entertaining my friends and colleagues impossible. This is absurd because most people chose Luxe because of the social benefits of being near Old Town. Eek! Another blemish on Luxe is how grotesque the community atmosphere is. Often times I would find vomit in the hallways. Luxe is a party complex plain and simple. People rage here like they are in undergrad despite being in their mid 20's and early 30's. Loud drunks fight in the parking lot most weekends. One drunk emotionally unstable man approached me with a firearm on his hip looking to pick a fight; while my foreign student neighbors smoked an obnoxious amount. The combination of PET WASTE, garbage, and interior corridors made walking the halls at night nothing short of nauseating. You see Luxe forces residents to pay in to the valet waste cartel meaning the garbage sits in the hallways and is removed late at night. If you don't bring in your garbage a front desk team member will threaten you with a fine. On to the apartment itself. My bedroom was spacious while the bathrooms and walk in closets were truly luxurious. Clean granite, modern cabinets and powerful water pressure. My kitchen island was enormous and would have been a decent spot for entertaining had parking been available for my guests. The den was a bit small and could only fit a 3 seat couch. Even at the 1.7K price point I did not have room for a small dining table. Meals were ate on bar stools at the island. Included in my rent were some built in bluetooth speakers. This was a complete sham as they sounded awful. They had odd whiney feedback whenever they were used. Sometimes these speakers did not work at all. I have a basic 7 speaker set which I bought in college 6 years ago which sounds leaps and bounds better than the built in "upgrade". I would be less bitter if Luxe did not nickel and dime me every single month with hidden fees. My 1.7K apartment became 1.8-1.9K. You know those gas grills near the pool? That's $9 a month for community gas. The exterminator? What about the lights in the hallways? Yes, every single community watt will be billed to you somewhat indiscriminately. Run to the hills. Run for your lives.
