| - Oh Southwest! I wish you could always be my "go-to" airline, though you did take over my beloved AirTran. Unfortunately your route structure is a little limited out of my hometown, Pittsburgh. Looking at your route structure, most destinations out of the 'Burgh require a change of planes.
Oh wait, that's true of all airlines flying in-n-out of PIT! No matter where you fly, you're going by way of someplace else. But I digress.
Unfortunately, I'd forgotten about the "open seating" system that Southwest has. I waited until the airport to check in and I was assigned to section C. The rear of the plane. Steerage! There were only single seats left there by the time got on, but that's okay because I was traveling solo. A married couple had to sit separately. When I offered to switch seats, they politely declined. a brother-sister pair traveling together did the same thing. I guess when you've been traveling with a s/o or a sib, you need your space!
Oh, and I realize that on SWA all you get s one teeny tiny snack and a beverage. Who cares? Eat before your flight as I did, or bring your own snacks on the plane.
Finally, although I had to make a connecting flight, I was so glad it wasn't out of Midway Airport. A fire had broken out at the Chicago air traffic center, shutting down both ORD and MDW. Mercifully I wasn't caught up in all that mishigas of having to re-book flights, etc.
