Hawthorne Management Company is terrible - I can't tell you how many times we've been cited for the tiniest of infractions while the foreclosed house next door to us is in shambles with shutters falling off and the *entire* chimney falling off of the house. They nitpick about the smallest of things and send a passive-aggressive letter saying they'll fine us if we don't fix things immediately. They also don't seem to be very fair in casting judgments. We've received at least 2 letters for a tiny bit of mold on the north side of our house, but our neighbors who have the same mold problems haven't ever received a letter. We have a tiny one-inch gash in our trim where the wood has rotted? Violation notice. Yet I see other households with cars that don't work in their driveways, homes in disrepair, grass up to the knees. If you're thinking of using them to manage your community, you'll be doing your community a great disservice by doing so.
