Visiting the Toronto Coffee Company has always been a matter of convenience for me. It's not that their coffee isn't good or that their rustic space isn't comfortable to lounge in, but I have just never wanted to rave about them...until now.
On a recent morning, after a string of chaotic events led to my hurrying to the subway with a growling stomach, I popped into TCC expecting to settle for a cookie or something else too sweet and dissatisfying for breakfast. As I answered the barista's question of how he could help me with "I'm starving!", his eyes began to twinkle. He proudly pointed to the freshly "homemade" focaccia filled with scrambled eggs. Bingo!
Just a quick minute on the pannini press and the fantastically frangrant little loaf was all mine to love and cherish in the underground. The savoury treat really hit the spot and was a seriously refreshing alternative to the usual grab-and-go brekky options. I really hope this isn't going to be a sporadic offering.
