This won't be a full on review, but more like a "cool things to note type of post". So here goes - in no particular order;
They get their fresh fruit, literally fresh from a nearby market shop, so it's not the typical hit or miss garnish you get at some other breakfast spots i.e. the fruit is all edible, not just a tip of the watermelon. The pineapple was so good it seemed marinated or sun dried. You get the gist of it.
They make their coffee stir sticks out of uncooked pasta (Fettuccini, I think from the thickness). What a great and novel idea or at least to me, since I don't recall seeing that elsewhere.
Their poached eggs are "eggcellent" and inspired a go-at-home, after watching how to videos.
Their Hollandaise sauce is quite rich and subtly unique. More depth of flavour. Must taste again.
Finally they have several shelves of mugs for drink-in coffee. The neat thing is that they are all pretty unique, some are from foreign places, various sizes and shapes and many are donated.
This all wraps into more proof that St. Lo is one of those truly local and homey feeling places.
