| - I had adopted my dog 1 month before I went on honeymoon to Europe. The owner, Amel, quoted me $23/day bc my dog would be staying there for 16 days. Great!
The place reeked of urine upon entering. When I arrived, the woman behind the counter (co-owner) looked up from her computer, said nothing, and resumed working. I walked up to the counter and told her my dogs name. She made a phone call and another woman came out, said nothing, put a leash on my dog and proceeded to take him in the back. I said, "Hold on! Aren't you going to explain the procedure here? Can I see where you are taking him?" The co-owner looked up from her computer and said that she cannot allow me to see where he will be staying for insurance reasons. She then proceeded to give me the contact info for their new facility on Rt. 8 which is "completely open with windows" so you could see. She also said that they were moving from the Lawrenceville location closer to town. So basically, she told me that this location was the lowest priority! Dog beds were not allowed but they said they had their own beds. I got a very bad vibe. I reluctantly left my dog there, went home and could not find another kennel. Mind you, I was leaving the next morning for Europe.
When I returned to pick up my dog, their computer wasn't working and so they just asked me how long he was there. When they gave me the price, it was higher than I was quoted. When I told them that, they sheepishly said that the owners make different arrangements with different customers. I guess I got a discount???!!!! Come on-no set prices???? The employee talked about how much he liked my dog; so that was gratifying.
When I brought my dog home, he was exhausted. Not a bad thing. However, I noticed that all of the hair on his elbows was missing and he had scabs on them and on a back paw. Obviously this was from sleeping on the floor. My dog NEVER chooses to sleep on a hard floor over any kind of soft surface. I don't believe he was provided with a bed.
So all and all, this place scared me. Terrible customer service, no transparency to the facility, and a total lack of professionalism leads me to write this and warn others.
