  • I was searching for a holistic dentist near my residence and googled it online (honestly, at first, I was searching for an area dentist with weekend hours, then changed my mind for a holistic dentist in my area, as I was growing concerned with the mercury/ amalgam fillings in my mouth- I've heard and seen horror stories and also didn't want the toxicity and exposure, any longer). I saw Dr. Wright, the company website (it is chockful of information, BTW), and I also saw the Yelp reviews (there is a ton of positive credibility online, not just on Yelp, but other reviews popped up, as well). I called to schedule an appointment. The initial exam is $239, but it is a two-hour-long comprehensive visit featuring the latest technology in terms of taking the pictures (two different ways), along with X-rays and the dental exam (mercury analysis), oral cancer screening, cleaning (a future appt.) and overall assessment for a future plan of action. I've never seen this type of picture technology before this visit. (I have also been with the same dentist at my former residence for the past 15 years, as well. I knew that there was a watch on some of my teeth and I also knew that there was a crown that I needed.) It is just impressive and amazing to see your teeth as they truly are (Well, that could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your outlook, lucky for me, I'm a positive/ realist. I always want to know, if I am going to face it, I just need to know.) I spoke with Debby, Dr. Wright's wife; she is the manager. She was super sweet. I was a new patient so I would need to come in 15 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment to fill out new patient forms. The lobby is ornate, unlike most dental offices, complete with oversize chairs and a huge aquarium- it is beautiful, the entire lobby. There are three forms to fill out. My ID was copied. The entire staff is very nice- I met Sophia, Carol, and some other staff members (sorry, I don't always remember names). The other side is a spa, where they do various spa services like facials and in the mornings, there is a chiropractor as well. The bathroom is full-service. No, this is not your typical dental office. The front office staff does not wear scrubs, but the dental assistant staff does. Doctor Wright was thorough and exact (and he has a great memory). Debby goes through everything in detail and explains dental terms thoroughly, as they all want to empower their patients. Part II: the cleaning. The first part of it is with Dr. Wright (he does the scraping with the tools). The second part is with the hygienist, who flosses and polishes. If you have a regular cleaning, this is the shorter visit between the two visits. The entire staff is top-notch. The inside of the office is very pretty, the lobby features large oversize ornate furniture, as well as a large gorgeous aquarium. It surely does not feel like your typical dentist office. The bathroom is also not your typical bathroom. It's really different experience here overall. If you are looking for a quality dentist, then, you've found the right place. If you are looking for the cheapest in dental care, you will need to go elsewhere (and they will tell you that over the phone). Like all things important in your life, sometimes the least expensive route is not always the best (*you are the judge, you are in the driver's seat, you can ultimately make that decision*). I don't skimp on two very important things in life: health care (you only have one body, one lifetime, and I want to keep my teeth) and shoes (I have high arches, so I can't buy cheap shoes).
