This is a service department review.
I have taken my car here several times, and not really had any sort of issue with them. However, I took my car there on Monday to have them look at my air conditioner and repair a recall chip on my Sonata. They took care of that with no issues - but I was told that my brake pads were near gone, and they needed to be repaired IMMEDIATELY. While Steven was a nice guy - I decided to take my car elsewhere to have this repair done. I'm smart enough to know that I don't need to pay $400 for my brake pads to be done.
I took my car to the other mechanic that I typically would work with, and he calls me a half hour later to let me know that I indeed did NOT need brakes. The pads didn't even have 50% usage on them!
I'm not sure what the deal is here, but I'm not happy. Brakes are something everybody NEEDS to have working properly, so it's something that I took very serious. To hear that the dealer that handles the majority of my repairs basically lied to me is just unacceptable. I understand the need for businesses to make money, but let's be honest and find the right way to do it.
The most unfortunate part of all of this is - I AM in the market for a new car, and guess who won't be getting my business..... Auto Nation Hyundai Tempe.
