| - Blegh. I had a pretty unfortunate experience here recently.
First, I love places like this; I've never been to Marshall's but I know it's like TJ Maxx, which I love, so I strolled in on a nice afternoon after work. I just wanted to do some nice shopping and relax after a long week. What happened wasn't too relaxing and a little frustrating, though I left with some pieces that I'm in love with. As far as the merchandise goes, I love this place and the prices! But...
The staff. Sheesh, the staff made me mad. I had an armload of clothes and was heading to the dressing room, excited to see what I could find during this shopping trip--all was going really well and I was finding things that I loved! I wasn't met with a happy dressing room staff. Not. at. all. What I did find was the sassiest elderly woman I have ever had the ::ahem:: pleasure of interacting with. I don't hold a personal grudge against this lady, but let me just say I despised her immediately. She scolded me for holding my hangers and clothes incorrectly, then seemed miffed that I had 8 pieces, then snapped at me and directed me to the fitting room. When I came back with a few more, she totally didn't listen to me (I was actually trying to be nice after the way she treated me earlier) and snapped at me again. Bitter old woman.
I made it out of there unscathed and actually pleased; the woman at the register up front called me "ma'am" which was unnecessary, but it didn't make me as mad as the old lady. I'll bring a friend next time to diffuse the situation so there's no knock-down-drag-out fight in the fitting room.
