| - I went to Montreal this past weekend (April 2017) for my bachelorette party with a group of 10 ladies in our mid-30's. We all love to eat, so naturally Tuck Shop was on the list compiled by my incredible maid-of-honor. It did not disappoint! The ambiance is rustic and cozy, the staff was superb and the food and drink were fantastic. We did the chef's menu and everything was creative and cooked to perfection. They were also able to cater to special needs like no dairy and pescatarian. Everything was delicious but the stand outs for me were: steak tartare that was perfectly seasoned; endive wrap with shrimp and crispy bacon; and pork belly in a cheddar style gravy. I live in Manhattan, NY so being blown away by food is not an easy feat, but Tuck Shop nailed it. The house made salted caramel dessert was slap your momma good. Or the owner's mom! Apparently the owner's mom makes some of the desserts, which is a really nice personal touch.
Wine selection was good as were the cocktails. Someone wanted an espresso martini after dinner and although it wasn't on the menu, the bartender made a phenomenal one that had the rest of the party ordering them as well. And when they ran out of Bailey's? They just made it to order with Kaluha and a touch of cream.
Were were a big party and could have been super annoying, but the staff was AMAZING and we had a lot of fun with them! We wound up having a mini-dance party, DJed by the bartender, once the rest of the tables cleared out. It was honestly such a fun night for us all. I can't say enough good things about the food, the staff and the owner. Go, and you will not be disappointed!
