| - Nothing to do? Live close by? Hit up Canada's Wonderland. With Leviathan open this year it's sure to be that much more exciting right? Absolutely! It was incredible. For that ride alone I felt it was worth the trip (rode it twice and had more chances to but thought we should hop on some other rides too). If you're out of shape like me, word to the wise, stretch your neck before your visit. I'm not sure which ride did it or if it was a joint effort from all the rides I went on today but it's a bit sore now.
I hadn't been to Wonderland in about 5 years. Well, that's not true, I was there for Halloween Haunt 2011 but it was so busy I only had time to go on Drop Zone and then a few Haunted Houses. That being said I was a Behemoth virgin still and was honestly worried I wouldn't be able to handle roller coasters anymore. After popping my 5-year roller coaster cherry with the newest ride "Leviathan," I realized that this was not the case. It was awesome. I had a bad case of dry mouth (bring water, they let you at least bring that in) after the ride because of all the screaming (like a girl) and it's just incredibly fast. For those that have been on the Behemoth, the seats are the same except the seats are lined up straight so 4 people per row, 2 main carts, not sure exactly how many people per cart but the line was fairly quick. Lines weren't huge this day but it seemed very efficient for the amount of people that were there. After hopping on the Behemoth later in the day, I felt I enjoyed that ride a bit more. Still, that first drop was ridiculous on the Leviathan. I can't get over it. I screamed and then ran out of breath and there was still more drop to it.
I went on the first Sunday of June this year and the weather called for rain. We were there from 12:30pm - 7:20pm and with the weather being as crazy as it is, we only had to deal with the rain for about an hour (a perfect time for lunch). Had I gone a different day, I may not have enjoyed my visit as much. On this day, I managed to ride a total of 15 rides with my friends and of those 15, I got all the big coasters (go before the high school students and tourists take over this summer!). The longest line up this day was 20-25 minutes. Sure the weather wasn't the best but it sure beats lining up for 90 minutes for a ride on a nice day. That being said, Canada's Wonderland has a thing online called "Fast Lane" tickets. These are purchased separately from your admission tickets and for your purchase you get a wristband that allows you to by-pass crazy line ups on 15 major attractions. They are cheaper the more you purchase but range from $35 - $55 on top of regular admission. Per day, Wonderland only has a set amount for purchase so if you plan on going on a busy day, buy them a few days before and online to save money on admission. Are Fast Lane tickets worth it? On a busy day, hell yes. Be smart about it though. On this day that I went, it wasn't needed. I got 15 rides and happy about that because the last time I was there, I think I averaged 0.75 ride/hour (making that stat up but I do remember it sucked). That being said, even on those rides I had to wait 10 or so minutes and just watched Fast Lane purchasers by pass me, I was jealous. I can only imagine how many rides they got on.... Lucky bastards.
