I'm a huge donut junkie. I can eat it anytime of day. But Fractured Prune doesn't have the types of donuts I like.
Fractured Prune has a unique concept -the core donut is actually the same for every "flavor." They create the "flavor" by combining their own toppings (usually a glaze of some sort and then a hard topping like cookie crumbs, bacon, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, etc). While I do think this is a fun and unique concept, I wish I knew it prior. I ordered 24 donuts online and picked them up - only to find out they all had that firm, cake-donut like consistency. I brought them to my customer site and only 1/3 of the donuts were eaten since they were pretty firm and chewy by the time I made the drive out to Chandler and they lost their warmth.
While I do applaud them for the unique concept of having tons of toppings, just do note that the actual donut consistency isn't like the traditional Glaze Donut at Krispy Kreme, the Sugar donuts, jelly donuts, that are out there... etc... it's more like the cake-consistency donut where the interior is super firm.
