| - I hate how convenient this location is to where I work, and that it's not worth my time to walk to an alternate location, because life gets a little more difficult every time I go in here.
I sent out items regularly. We're talking 2-3 times a week. It's basically the same people working the desk every time I go in. You think by now they'd know me (it only took the lovely people at Starbucks about 3 visits to figure out my preferences), but every time I go in I am treated like I am a complete stranger who has no clue what they are doing.
And heaven forbid I use the wrong terminology. One time I went in and told the woman behind the counter that I wanted to send my parcel via expedited shipping. She asked for my "VentureOne" card. I told her I didn't have one. She told me she couldn't send my parcel expedited. I told her I needed the package to arrive within 1 or 2 days. "Oh, you mean EXPRESS?" she asked. Yes, of course I meant EXPRESS. You're just being purposefully difficult and self-righteous. You work for the Post Office, not the Pope.
The straw that broke the proverbial camel's back came earlier today when I went in to send a regular parcel. I'd been eyeballing a coin set to get for a friend for a few weeks now. It's a 2011 set, and the tag next to it (for weeks) has read $9.95. I requested it and it rung it at $19.95. I told her the tag said $9.95. She told me that it was ringing in at $19.95 and that was that. Before I knew what was happening, she had voided it from my purchase and was taking my money for the earlier postage. Never once did she walk down to verify the signage. I would have even accepted a "You're right, but the sign is wrong." At least then I would have been under the illusion that she was doing her job.
I understand that Christmas is busy. I totally get that you are under stress trying to deal with people who don't realize that they need to fill in a customs form to send little Jimmy in Ohio a Christmas present. I know that it's frustrating to deal with people who think you are charging them too much to send that hand-knitted scarf that just barely won't fit through the mail slot. But I'm a customer too, and I don't care that there is a line of 5 people behind me, I deserve to be served properly and taken care of.
It should be noted that there are a couple employees here who are standouts, and tend to be in a good mood. It's always disappointing when they aren't the ones serving me, because they don't act like they're doing me a favour in processing my postage.
UPDATE: I went back today, and they finally fixed the sign, after about two months. Those jerks.
